Befriend A Tree

Updated: Oct 7, 2021

"Trees are living creatures.

Their spirits are gentle and strong and they hold great affection for humans.

They serve as living antennae between Heaven and Earth.

Prayers and wishes whispered beneath them are always more powerful."

― Ted Andrews

There is something very healing about being in nature. It calms us and we feel better. Even viewing pictures of nature scenes can help to reduce stress, relax the mind, and reduce tension. Being in nature promotes positive physical health. We move more, our breathing and heart rate slow and become more regular, our muscles relax, and we experience a state of improved wellness.

Regardless of how busy life is, or the state of world affairs, remaining calm and grounded is one of the best ways to support good health. Take trees, for example. Whether on the boulevard or in a back yard, their strong and silent presence offers us the reminder that we have companions.

The next time you find yourself in search of a way to unwind, I suggest you find a tree. Sit beneath it or simply gaze upon it from a window. Believe me, doing so will make a difference, and it won't take long before you begin to feel better, more grounded, more present, more yourself.
