These are difficult times.
It's easy to lose perspective and focus our unhelpful thoughts and actions. Our work is to seek peace, compassion, balance, and joy, regardless of what arises. The following parable, which perhaps you have heard, offers us an inner practice that leads to serenity.
An elder Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. “My son,” he said, “there is a battle between two wolves that live inside us all. One lives in anger, jealousy, sorrow, doubt, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, superiority, false pride and ego. The other is filled with pure love, innocence, wonder, peace, possibility, kindness, generosity, truth, compassion, joy and humility.” The grandson thought about it for a moment and then asked his grandfather, “Which one will win, grandfather?” His grandfather simply replied, “The one you feed, my son!”
As we seek to live a balanced life filled with compassion and joy, we best be mindful of which inner wolf we are feeding. Healing practices, such as meditation and energy healing, offer powerful ways to attain peace, regardless of what arises.
