Expect Discomfort

It's okay to feel uncomfortable.

Healing and transformation are rarely easy. I'm not exactly sure why we think there is something wrong when things in our life are going awry. Experiencing unsettling situations, whether current or from the past, bring thoughts and feelings to the surface that can be really hard to navigate. And, while the first thing we may want to do is run or hide until we feel "good" again, healing simply doesn’t work that way.

We cannot escape that which is arising for healing. What does work is sharing what we’re going through with someone, be it a friend, therapist, mentor or healer. They help us see what we cannot see, hear what we cannot hear, and take the steps we cannot take alone.
